Credentialing and Privileging
The Credentialing and Privileging functions of the Medical Staff Office are cornerstone functions of UCSF. These functions contribute toward the provision of safe patient care and simultaneously mitigate against risk.


Our credentialing and privileging personnel perform credentialing for all healthcare practitioners practicing within the UCSF Medical Center, Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital, and our Clinically Integrated Network contract providers. This includes:


DDS - Doctor of Dental Surgery
DMD - Doctor of Medical Dentistry
DO - Doctor of Osteopathy
DPM - Doctor of Podiatric Medicine
MBBCH - Foreign Trained Medical Doctor
MBBS - Foreign Trained Medical Doctor
MD - Medical Doctor
PhD- Clinical Psychologist
PsyD - Clinical Psychologist


CNM - Certified Nurse Midwives
CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists
LAc - Licensed Acupuncturists
