California Children’s Services 

California Children’s Services (CCS) is a state program for children with certain diseases or health problems.  Through this program, children up to 21 years old can get the health care services they need.

UCSF Enrollment in CCS

Our health plan enrollment (HPE) team completes CCS enrollment for you - this is referred to as delegated enrollment.  Please note, CCS also refers to enrollment as paneling.


Physician Enrollment Requirements and Exclusions

E-Applications for new physicians are submitted by Medical Affairs HPE Analysts, but please note these criteria for enrollment:

  1. Physicans must be licensed by the Medical Board of California or by the Osteopathic Medical Board of California
  2. Physicians who are not board certified must submit proof of residency completion and can only participate in the CCS program for three years
  3. Family practice physicians must meet the requirements of documented experience (list of cases) treating children with CCS eligible medical conditions for at least five years, or have treated 100 or more such children

Requirements for APP Enrollment/Paneling in CCS

E-applications for the following APP specialties can be submitted by our office's HPE Analysts, but the department/APP will need to designate which Special Care Center (SCC) they will be a core team member of:

  • Audiology
  • Dietetics
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Orthotics
  • Physical Therapy
  • Prosthetics
  • Prosthetics/Orthotics
  • Psychology
  • Registered Nurse/PNP (assigned to one of UCSF’s 28 approved Specialty Care Centers (SCC)
  • Respiratory Care Practice
  • Social Work
  • Speech-Language Pathology
